My Dad sent me this site – it’s a virtual climb of Mount Everest in a 3D environment. Keep an eye on the left side of the screen where the current elevation is indicated. When you’ve reached the South Summit, have a look around and then explore the menu on the right side for more information on the Sherpa community and the April 2014 tragedy.

Working with Google Sites
My students are using Google Sites as a portfolio to hold all of their creative work. There are a lot of questions about how to use the many features, so we’ve been “Asking The Google” and found this good site. Google Trainer, Tony Amsler, offers a range of tips for beginners and experts alike, including his very helpful articles in the “Good to Know” section.

Jets, Planes, and Helicopters: How Do They Fly?
EducatorLabs’ Kelly Campbell, sent this site along a while back. It’s a good launching point with several links that relate to the history of flight and specific information on planes, jets and helicopters and how they work.

304 Classroom Posters
I found this little treasure collection while looking for some inspiration to create my own poster. There are 304 no-cost, downloadable posters in this busyteacher.org site. There is a prominent ad to purchase product on the pages but if you click on the poster you like, it will present you with a .jpg that can be saved or printed.

GCFLearnFree.org
Canberra teacher, Brian Shaw, sent along this Goodwill Community Foundation project. Says Brian, “It has a huge range of resources and how to guides on MS Office products, technology, Social issues, etc.
Great videos for the students to use at home. It is free but you can sign up if you want your progress to be tracked etc.”
