When I was a student teacher in the 80’s, I used this video in a math unit. This week, I’m preparing a lesson in SketchUp about the Golden Section and wondered if I could find it online since my old VHS of it is long gone. I only need about 5 minutes from the 7:00 mark to cover this particular subject but the whole 27 minute video is well worth a look.

The good folks at Educational Technology and Mobile Learning have released a set of fun posters that can be used in an ed-tech situation – lab bulletin boards, taped to the Chromebook cart, shared as a pdf and so on. The ethical theme allows students to “understand that using any sort of technology in class is governed by a set of rules and guidelines that have to be respected and enacted. These guidelines do not only organize their interaction with this technology but, most importantly, makes this interaction pedagogically sound.”

My Dad sent me this site – it’s a virtual climb of Mount Everest in a 3D environment. Keep an eye on the left side of the screen where the current elevation is indicated. My students are using Google Sites as a portfolio to hold all of their creative work. There are a lot of questions about how to use the many features, so we’ve been “Asking The Google” and found this good site. Google Trainer, Tony Amsler, offers a range of tips for beginners and experts alike, including his very helpful articles in the “Good to Know” section.
